Ms. Shailaja is a Secretarial Assistant at DST-CPR, IISc. She assists in the administrative work, especially related to DST-STI Policy Fellowship Programme.
Ms. Sambavi is a Secretarial Assistant at DST-CPR, IISc. She assists in the administrative work, recruitment and organizing Workshop/Seminar/Meeting at IISc
Sowmya helps manage the fellowship programme, engagement and outreach at DST-CPR. She has been a research manager and science administrator since 2016. After gaining a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, she worked at Manipal University and the National Centre for Biological Sciences as Research Associate and Lab Manager respectively.
Kanchan Lala is currently working as a Project Associate with the DST- Centre for Policy
Research at the Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru. He holds M.Phil and Ph.D degree from the
Centre for Studies in Science Technology and Innovation Policy, Central University of Gujarat.
His Ph.D thesis explores the role of academic incubators and start-ups in India’s Innovation
ecosystem and what role it plays in the technological and economic development.
Kanchan’s research interest revolves in exploring the domain of Science Technology and
Innovation Studies understanding the role of universities in the development discourse.
In addition to it, he also interested in exploring the domain of technology incubation, Academic
Entrepreneurship, Open Innovation, Scientometric Analysis, IPR, Global Value Chain,
Sustainable and Innovative Public Procurement & Eco-design, and Innovation System.
He has done masters in international economics and investment banking from the School of Management (SoM), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand & Asian Institute of Management (AIM), Philippines and bachelor’s in electrical engineering from BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), Bangalore, India. His expertise is in the area of development economics, microfinance, climate finance, and public policy. He is a founder and CEO of TYCHE Investments and prior to this, he has worked on several projects for the UN agencies such as UNEP-DTU, UNDP, Ministry of environments- Japan, and EU-FP7 in the area of climate finance and public policy through organizations like IISc-Bangalore, Energy field of study, AIT, IIM-Bangalore, AIT-Thailand, SEI-Asia, Thailand, RRC.AP-Thailand and IIM-Rohtak.
She is a Senior Project Associate at DST-Centre for Policy Research at IISc, Bengaluru. working with the team on the processes and outcomes of pre-draft and post-draft consultations for making the upcoming national STI policy in India. She also supports the Centre and its partners with various events and activities related to the broad areas of STI policy.
She holds a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Genetics and Bioinformatics from the University of Sheffield, UK. Interested in bridging the gap between science and society through Science in Policy and communication and outreach, her current interests include public health and policy outreach.
