Research interest:

Dr Rashmi’s research interest is to address climate change by strengthening and facilitating the low carbon development (particularly in the area of Water, Energy, Transportation and Infrastructure) in India through the lens of science, technology and innovation.

 

Background:

Rashmi Verma is working as a DST-Science Technology and Innovation Senior Policy Fellow at the DST-Centre for Policy Research, Indian Institute of Science- hosted at the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. She has a Master’s degree in Botany and a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences. She has over seven years of work experience in Climate Change, Water Resource Management, Water and Sanitation sector in India and in Sub-Saharan Countries.

In her last engagement, She was associated with Centre for Science and Environment as Programme Officer in Rural Water and Waste Management unit. She was also engaged in training and capacity building programs of central and state government departments. Prior to that she worked with GIZ on project – Status of Climate Change in State of Uttarakhand. Rashmi earned her Ph.D. degree from School of Environment and Natural Resources, Doon University, Uttarakhand. She has authored several training manuals, technical reports and scientific publications in journals of International repute.
