Debanjana Dey

Background:

Debanjana is a Post-doctoral policy fellow at the DST- Centre for Policy Research at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. She was awarded her PhD degree by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) at CSIR- National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (CSIR-NISTADS), New Delhi. She holds a master’s degree in Biotechnology.

Prior to joining DST-CPR, IISc she worked with Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), a policy research think tank at New Delhi on the Science Diplomacy Project. She has also worked with CSIR NISTADS and has been part of two projects funded by Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and Department of Science and Technology. She was also associated with Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR and has been part of projects funded by Foundation for Ecological Security, Gujarat and ICSSR- Major Research Programme. She has published research articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and digital platforms.

Research Interests:

Debanjana’s research interests lies in Science Technology and Society (STS) Studies. Her current research focuses on Science and Policy relationships in formal systems as well as informal local knowledge systems; Ecosystem and Biodiversity studies; Agricultural science and technology; Innovation system for inclusive development; and Science Diplomacy.
