Position: Project Intern – Exploring Research Assessment Practices in Indian Academia

Number of openings: 1 

Duration: 4 months (April-July)

Location: Home based/Virtual (might include few days of travel during events)

Terms: Part time with flexible working hours (on an average 2 hrs per day, Mon-Fri, might include weekends)

Salary: INR 10,000  per month

About us: 

The DST- Centre for Policy Research (DST-CPR) at IISc is one of the outcomes of the Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Policy, 2013 with the objective to create and strengthen the institutionalisation of policy research mechanism in India.  It was established in August 2014 with the major goal of studying policies and mechanisms that can help increase the research impact of Indian institutions and thereby improve their position in global rankings. 

The internship position is with DORA funded project “Exploring Research Assessment Practices in Indian Academia” that tries to understand the various tools and methods institutions within the Indian research ecosystem employ to assess researchers, and in extension, research.

About the role:

The Project Intern will be expected to coordinate with the project stakeholders, manage social media outreach, monitor a survey, and other related activities.

Candidate requirements: 

  • Minimum educational requirement: Graduation
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in using Google forms, MS Office, and data visualisation softwares
