Dr. Chagun Basha is a DST-Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Fellow at the DST-Centre for Policy Research at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, since December 2016. His primary research focus on R&D Statistics and Industrial R&D. In addition, he is also working on cross-cutting STI indicators, Government Science Advice and Science Diplomacy. His additional responsibilities at the Centre includes capacity building activities, project development and outreach. Before this role, he worked as a Senior Science & Technology Insights Analyst with open-innovation industry. Dr. Basha pursued his Ph.D. in Space Electronics from the L’institut d’électronique et de télécommunications de Rennes (UMR CNRS 6164) at the University of Rennes 1, France and thereafter continued his post-doctoral research at École Polytechnique de l’Université de Nantes, France. Prior to that, he was with INRIA-Institut de recherche en informatique et systèmes aléatoires (UMR CNRS 6074) as a Research Fellow. In addition to, DST- Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Fellowship awarded by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (Nov 2016), he has also been a recipient of The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Research Grant by University of York, United Kingdom (Mar 2014) and French National Research Agency’s (ANR) Doctoral Research Fellowship (Jan 2012).
